Learning the basics first

A have just completed a back to basics course, we run for anybody who would like to understand photography. It made me realise how important it is to master the basics before moving on to using more advanced techniques using a digital slr camera. Apertures, Shutter Speeds and ISO may look complicated to learn, but are the most important things to learn first. I am happy to hear from you if you are confused by any digital camera.
